Dilhara Fernando dismissed Mohammed Hafeez and Azhar Ali to break two important partnerships of 94 and 100 for second and fifth wickets respectively. When he trapped Mohammed Sami, lbw for three runs, Fernando became a member of the elite club of bowlers to claim 100 test wickets for Sri Lanka.Only Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Chaminda Vaas (355), Rangana Herath (154) and Lasith Malinga (101) have claimed more for Sri Lanka in the test arena. Tharanga Paranavitana held a brilliant catch at silly point to send Younis Khan back to the pavilion for 19 runs to give Herath his 150th test victim. Both, Fernando and Herath are playing in their 40th test matches. During the post lunch session, Herath removed Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq in three overs to bring Sri Lanka back into the game but rock solid Azhar Ali defied the bowlers for almost six hours to guide Pakistan to a total that their bowlers can give a fight.
